How it works

Government contracts, made searchable.

CanadaBid pulls every live federal tender from CanadaBuys daily and makes it easy to find, track, and act on the opportunities that match your business.

Why CanadaBuys alone isn't enough

The Government of Canada publishes every federal tender over $25,000 on CanadaBuys. The data is public and free. The problem is finding what's relevant to your business inside a system that was built for procurement officers, not suppliers.

Most Canadian businesses that could be winning government contracts are not even looking — not because the opportunity isn't there, but because the process of monitoring it manually is time-consuming and the interface isn't designed for them.

CanadaBid is the layer between you and the data. We index every tender daily, make it searchable in plain language, and alert you the moment something relevant appears.

Three steps from search to opportunity

1

Search live federal tenders

Type a keyword, department name, or goods and services code. CanadaBid searches across tender titles, descriptions, and category codes simultaneously. Every live federal tender on CanadaBuys is indexed and results appear in seconds.

Free on all plans. No account required to search.

Pro

Save searches that match your business

When you find a search that returns relevant results — a department that buys your services, a category that matches your work — save it. CanadaBid monitors that search continuously and tracks new results for you automatically.

Save up to 5 searches on Pro. Unlimited on Agency.

Pro

Get emailed when new contracts appear

When a new tender is posted that matches a saved search, CanadaBid sends you an email the same day it appears. You see the tender title, department, estimated value, and closing date — enough to decide whether it's worth pursuing before you open the full document.

Alerts are sent daily. No notifications for tenders you've already seen.

What's included in every plan

Full-text tender search

Search across titles, descriptions, department names, and GSIN category codes. Results are ranked by relevance and sortable by closing date or publication date.

Closing date tracking

Every tender shows its closing date prominently. Tenders closing within 7 days are flagged amber. Tenders closing within 48 hours are flagged red. You always know where the urgency is.

AI-generated RFP summaries Pro

Federal RFPs are long and dense. Every tender on CanadaBid includes a plain-English summary of what the government is actually asking for, generated by AI from the full tender document.

Supplier intelligence Pro

See which companies have won federal contracts in your category, what they typically charge, and which departments they work with most. Understand your competition before you bid.

Award history lookup Pro

Search awarded contracts going back to 2022 to understand what the government has paid for similar work, who won it, and how contracts in your category are typically structured.

Email alerts Pro

Save a search and get emailed the same day a new matching tender is posted. You focus on your work — CanadaBid monitors the market and tells you when something worth looking at appears.

Where the data comes from

All tender data on CanadaBid comes from the CanadaBuys open data feed published by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC). This is the official government procurement portal — the same source procurement officers and suppliers use.

CanadaBid fetches the open tender CSV daily and upserts every record into our database. Award history comes from the same source, covering fiscal years back to 2022. The data is not modified or interpreted — it is indexed and made searchable.

CanadaBid is built on CanadaBuys open data published by the Government of Canada under the Open Government Licence. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of Canada or PSPC.
